Chocolate Syrup Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder ( can be unsweetened cocoa powder,dark chocolate or cacao powder) or even melted down chocolate chips 
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup cane sugar (granulated sugar or a sugar substitute)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or tablespoon if you want a lot of vanilla
  • A pinch of salt

Chocolate Syrup For Coffee Instructions:

  1.  In a saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder and water over medium heat until the cocoa is dissolved.
  2. Add the sugar (or sugar substitute) and continue to whisk until the mixture starts to simmer on a medium saucepan
  3.  Let it simmer for a few minutes, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  5. Let it cool and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
