Roast The Roots: If you have fresh dandelion roots, wash them thoroughly then with the  completely dry dandelion root, chop the roots into small pieces (or use a coffee grinder or blender to grind them down), and roast them in the oven. preheat your oven to  200°F (93°C) for about 2 hours until they are dark and dry.  You can also use a dehydrator or if you have pre-roasted dandelion roots, you can skip this step. if you already have ground root.
  2.  Boil Water: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a small pot.
  3.  Add Dandelion Roots: Add the roasted dandelion root to the boiling water.
  4.  Simmer: Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
  5. Strain: use a strainer to remove the dandelion root pieces.
  6. Serve: Pour the dandelion coffee into a mug. You can add sweetener and milk or cream if desired or leave it if you love a bitter taste.
