  1. Prepare the Ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. This can be done by sliding a knife under the membrane and then pulling it off with your fingers or using a paper towel for better grip.
  2. Make the Dry Rub: In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, salt, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Season the Ribs: Rub the dry mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs. Make sure they are well-coated for maximum flavor.
  4. Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to 225°F (107°C). If using a charcoal grill, arrange the coals on one side to create indirect heat. If using a gas grill, turn on one side of the burners.
  5. Cook the Ribs: Place the ribs on the grill over indirect heat. Cover and cook time is about 3-4 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat is pulling away from the bones. Maintain the grill temperature at 225°F (107°C).
  6. Baste with Barbecue Sauce: During the last 30 minutes of cooking, baste the ribs with your favorite barbecue sauce. Turn the ribs occasionally and baste again to create a nice glaze.
  7. Rest and Serve: Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for about 10 minutes. Slice between the bones and serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
