Our Bahama mama cocktail recipe will give you all you need to make one fantastic summer cocktail you will love!
Gather your ingredients and prepare to shake up a piece of Bahamian paradise in your kitchen.

Bahama Mama Cocktail Ingredients:
- 1 cup crushed ice. The ice will ensure your drink stays cold no matter the time of the year. You can blend your ice or buy crushed ice to taste the paradise much faster. My favorite is having a slushy consistency with the ice, but you can change it!
- 1 fluid ounce of orange juice. If you have the time, I highly suggest using freshly squeezed orange juice, as nothing quite compares to the taste! However, any store-bought orange juice will do the trick!
- 1 fluid ounce of pineapple juice. There is no Bahama Mama without pineapple juice, as it is the ingredient that ties everything together, truly making this drink like a tropical paradise.
- 1 fluid ounce rum. There are several types of rum that you can use for this drink, but the best is coconut rum. The coconut rum adds to the flavors you will experience. You can also experiment with other types of liqueur or alcohol if you don’t like rum. You can try a blue curacao and skip the grenadine syrup if you want more of a blue color.
- ½ fluid ounces of grenadine syrup. Grenadine syrup gives the Bahama Mama its signature red tint and has a mildly tart pomegranate taste that nicely complements the sweet drink.

- Add two fluid ounces of rum instead of one for a more potent drink. Just be real careful and know your limits.
What to Serve With Your Cocktail
- As crazy as it may seem, cake is still a good option as a side of this drink. Bake a summer-themed cake or cupcake. To tie it together, decorate it with an image of the Bahamas.
- A cheese, fruit, and bread platter goes with everything! Spice it up with tropical fruit. There are many options, but oranges and pineapple are always solid choices.
- Who doesn’t love ice cream? Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a Bahama Mama Float.
